Forum Terms of Use: (Draft)

1. DEFINITIONS

a. Numbering of terms here is for convenience and reference, and may alter. Unlike many other legal notices, the numbers are added manually, and will appear in copied (or cut-and-pasted if you're still living in the stone age) text.

b. “You”, “Users”, and “Posters” refer to users of the forum.

c. A “Post” is a comment submitted to the forum.

d. “Us” is The Freedom Campaign collectively.

e. “Me” is the current HTML Maintainer.

2. GENERAL

a. This list of terms may be modified at any time. It is your responsibility to reread this list every so often. Notifications of changes may be announced if practicable.

b. Your submission of material indicates acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree to the stated terms, you should not post. If you wish to dispute or add to these terms, please email us/me at (Removing the NOSPAM bit first) us@Freedoms.4tNOSPAM.com .

d. The purpose of this forum is to collect experiences and suggestions and incorporate them into an ongoing document for action.

e. Action will not be published at the time of it's activity, due to the paradoxes that this would invoke.

f. No registration is required, largely because this is one of the things that annoys me most about most other forums (except pHreakspace (hello)).

g. Personal details, addresses, etc are accepted, but are not compulsory.

h. You need not include an email address, but do not expect a personal reply if you choose not to.

i. HTML is not allowed, though URLs will be hyperlinked.
Neither allowed are swearing, racism, threatening messages, nor attempts to spam, personally-solicit, or commercially sell.
You may cultivate professional relationships (eg finding other groups), and announce non-profit initiatives (eg search directories).

j. This forum is not a dating service, you should not use it to arrange meetings or make friends (or enemies!). You may reply to emails/phone numbers or other post'ers if they allow this, for arrangements in your own time, and at your own risk.

3. CENSORSHIP

a. Posts will be edited for size, irrelevant posts will be removed.

b. Posts are automatically censored for profanity and racism, within reason.
Posts will also be censored manually afterwards, though there will be a delay for this. Threats will be removed if necessary.
Posts will also be edited to remove spelling mistakes and glaring grammatical errors.

c. Attempts to solicit other Post'ers or sell commercial goods are irrelevant material and will be removed.

d. Attempts to pretend to be another poster will be corrected, by devious techniques if necessary.

e. Data will regularly be harvested from posts and summarised in (an)other part(s) of this site. Posts redundant after this will be removed.

4. COPYRIGHT

a. Posters agree to give up copyright of their posts to this forum, and normally further afield. If you wish to be credited for a particular post, it is your responsibility to note this in each post you wish this to be the case for. Eg, “Please cite author as Fred Bloggs fbloggs@email.com”. Denials of copyright to the authors of this forum will be ignored, since this is a contradiction.

5. LIABILITY

a. No liability will be accepted in the event of men bearing chainsaws arriving on your doorstep etc. Also note this is not very likely.

b. The security used within this service is intended only to deter the average to middling hacker, since most users will access this from PCs and the data passes through multiple systems in several countries due to the nature of split and/or remote hosting over the ARPA Internetwork. Therefore attempts at more stringent security would be pointless and advanced hackers are requested not to muck around or slight delays may result. The core systems are secure above normal military standards, and will be unaffected in any instance, so any hacking attempts are, ultimately, pointless.

c. This forum is provided “as is” and no suitability for any particular purpose in relation to the user is given or should be implied, so don't blame us if it blow's up your computer, flood's your house, or runs off with your daughter.

d. Though the Freedom Campaign sometimes provides legal information and other advice, and Posters on this forum may also do similar, you should in all instances seek independent legal advice before proceeding in matters of litigation, whether criminal, civil, tort, military, natural, or any other variety.

e. The Freedom Campaign and it's members are not legally qualified, and although some legal professionals have offered their services freely to the Campaign, they are not members of the Campaign. They're just friends, if you like.
